Cornell University Graduation 2004

I knew I would feel relieved to finish the PhD, so either way the graduation ceremony would be enjoyable. However, neither Ellie or I were prepared for just what a rush it was to participate in such pageantry..

First you queue up with the other PhD recipients under the pumpkin tower
The doctoral candidates start the procession. This was perhaps the most moving part as the faculty line the sides of the procession and clap for our accomplishments.
Proud to be with Ellie
Entering The Crescent to the roars of the crowds was another highlight
Lots of proud family members up above. Thank heaven for cell phones to allow people to find each other

We hope we will always stand out in a crowd
