What visit to Beijing would be complete without a visit to the Great Wall. We had a very eventful trip up from Beijing. We were in a General Motors van with a driver. He had the AC at max with the fans roaring. But because the traffic leaving the city was horrid, the engine overheated on the drive. Trying to communicate with the driver about how to solve the problem was an experience in itself. Eventually, Eric and I climbed down to the river to continually refill jugs to first cool the engine and then refill the radiator. But we made it and was worth it!
