East Tennessee
I didn't take that many photos while doing my East Tennessee research, however, thankfully I had my camera when Jeff Feldman and I took a spring hike in the Smokies
We arrived after a high elevation spring snow storm
All of the rhododendrons had leafed out and the snow on the green leaves made a cool contrast against the mostly bare trees

We also took another great hike: the Honey Creek Trail. This was one of the finest daytrips I've ever taken. Lots of overhanging cliffs, narrow passages and cool rock formations
The Honey Creek Trail is in the the Big South Fork (of the Cumberland River) National Recreation Area, which is one of the unknown gems out there for recreation.
We found a cold waterfall
These photos are from Merlefest (which I know is not in TN)

The Waybacks
A great band that calls themselves: "acoustic mayhem"
The Del McCoury Band

All-star lineup: Jerry Douglas, Ricky Skaggs and Sam Bush

Right when they were about to come out it started pouring, so they retreated to a tent. But with all those acoustical minds together, they started pickin' and playin' in the tent with as many of us that could crowded around. Then when the rains stopped, they burst out to huge applause and spirited playing.
